Fifteen Love Can Take Goodwood Feature
Fifteen Love, a good winner of the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot, looks a fair bet at 13-2 with the sponsor to land another big payday for connections in the totesport Mile Heritage Handicap (3.30) at Goodwood today.
A high draw has been a massive advantage in this race in recent years, with the past eight renewals falling to those drawn 16 or higher. Fifteen Love was poorly drawn and had little luck in running when fifth at Sandown Park last time and this progressive three-year-old is well worth another chance. His trainer, Roger Charlton, right, saddled Third Set to land this 12 months ago and can repeat the trick.
The Jeremy Noseda stable was out of sorts when Sixties Icon flopped at Royal Ascot, but his horses are in much better heart now and he can take the Coutts Glorious Stakes (2.15). The 2006 St Leger winner is fancied to make it three out of three at this track.
The Rolf Stewards’ Sprint Handicap (2.50) can go to Osiris Way. Things did not fall right for him at Newmarket last time, but he had been progressing well before that and, an easy winner on his only previous visit here, can bounce back.
Total Gallery holds solid claims in the Sir Tristram Ricketts’ Memorial Richmond Stakes (4.05). The form of his easy maiden success at Beverley last time has worked out well, with the second and third winning subsequently, and he should be well suited by this return to six furlongs.
Victory for Total Gallery would be a strong pointer to the chance of Sohcahtoa in the RSA Nursery Handicap (4.40). The latter beat Total Gallery in a hot maiden over six furlongs here in June and looks to have been let in lightly on his handicap debut.
