BBAG Yearling Catalogue Online

The BBAG Yearling Sale 2008 is marked by new dates within the Baden Baden Summer Racing Festival and is now to view on www.bbag-sales.de. The first session will commence on Wednesday, September 3rd at 6.00 p.m. with lots 1 through 90, and the second and final session is set for Thursday, September 4th to start at 9.30 a.m with a total of 358 lots catalogued.

All the leading vendors are present, prominent consignors from abroad are headed by Mount Coote Stud, Newsells Park Stud and Haras du Petit Tellier while the list of proven sires is headed by such greats as Monsun and Montjeu as well as Big Shuffle, Dashing Blade, Highest Honor, Lando, Pentire, Zamindar, etc. plus such quality young sires as Areion, Sholokhov and Coolmore’s sensational first season sire One Cool Cat right down to the young sires of the likes of Konigstiger and Sabiango, etc.

The catalogue is marked by a strong Black type percentage with the amount of Group performances with and under the first dams being very high. Gestut Auenquelle’s offer includes a Big Shuffle colt as an own brother to the Group winning pair Molly Art and Molly Max, Gestut Bona’s highlight is High Chaparral filly as the first foal bred from the Group scoring Saldentigerin while last year’s leading vendor’s consignment could be headed by a Lando half-brother to last year’s Group II Champagne Stakes victor Mccartney and a Monsun colt out of a Rainbow Quest half-sister to the multiple Group I scorer Quijano.

Dr. Jobst Buhmann is offering an Areion half-sister to the multiple Group and Stakes winning pair Soave and Sacho. Gestut Etzean can boast a Sholokhov half-brother to the runaway 2007 German Oaks victrix Mystic Lips and a Hawk Wing colt as a half-sibling to the Group I winning Royal Highness and the champion juvenile filly Royal Dubai. While Gestut Evershorst’s leading offer is an own brother to the German St. Leger hero Liquido, Gestut Fahrhof’s consignment comprises a Monsun colt out of the Group producing Dawn Side, a King’s Best colt out of the Group III winning Rainbow Quest mare Casanga and a Shamardal colt out of the Classic winning Surumu mare Win For Us plus a Medicean colt out of the young Lomitas mare Shina as an own sister to the champion Silvano and whose first produce is the Stakes winning three-year-old Solapur.

The French Haras du Petit Tellier is offering a Konigstiger colt from his sire’s first crop while Gestut Isarland’s offer includes a Pentire filly out of the Group producing Lando mare Nouvelle Perle. Gestut Karlshof can boast a Samum half-brother to the Group winners Aolus and Apeiron, own siblings to the Group winning Samum three-year-olds Baila Me and Kamsin plus a Monsun colt bred from the winning Dashing Blade mare Sasuela as a half-sister to the Classic winning Samum, Salve Regina and Schiaparelli all being by Monsun. The famous Mount Coote Stud is offering a Tiger Hill colt out of the multiple Stakes winning Tawoos while Newsells Park has a Highest Honor colt out of the New Zealand champion racemare Happyanunoit on offer.

Another real highlight is Gestut Park Wiedingen’s Big Shuffle colt as an own brother to this year’s smart German 2000 Guineas hero Precious Boy. Prospect Bloodstock is in the sale with a Tertullian half-sister to the dual Group winning Artan filly Waleria while Gestut Riepegrund is represented by a Reset half-sister to the Group III Prix de Saint-Georges victrix Best Walking.

Eckhard Sauren is offering a colt by Shamardal out of the Group III Premio Dormello victrix Nouvelle Noblesse while Gestut Sommerberg’s prime offer should be a Fantastic Light half-brother to the Group II winner and sire Aeskulap. The Union-Gestut’s offer includes a Montjeu colt bred from the Listed winning and Classic placed Monsun mare La Ina and a Zamindar filly out of the Selkirk mare Seilette. Gestut Wittekindshof consignment could be led by a High Chaparral half-brother to the German Derby and German Oaks winning pair Next Desert and Next Gina, a Hawk Wing colt as a first produce out of the Group scoring Desert King mare North Queen and a Next Desert colt bred from the dual Group winning In The Wings mare Saldenschwinge.
