Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale Concludes

The William Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale concluded at Oaklands today, with almost $2million traded across the two days.

Colts by Lindsay Park’s Face Value and Blue Gum Farm’s Elvstroem topped today’s session at $40,000.

Three Bridges Thoroughbreds’ Face Value-Classy Gift (With Class) colt was knocked down to the First Tuesday syndicate, while Blue Gum’s Elvstroem-Golden Prayer (Amen Brother) colt was sold to Victorian trainer Chris Parry.

The overall sale topper was the Dash For Cash-Mother To Be (Dance Floor) colt, which sold yesterday to Mick Price for $42,500.

In all, 224 yearlings were sold at a gross of $1,970,500 and average of $8797.

The buying bench, which assembled from every state in Australia, also included a number of on-line bidders, with six horses sold on-line during the sale.

Buyers who secured progeny at this sale now have the chance to enter those yearlings in next year’s $2.5million Inglis Race Series, which includes the $100,000 Inglis Plate, restricted to Autumn Yearling Sale graduates only.

Attention now turns to the Great Southern Sale, which begins with the Weanling section from 11am this Thursday, May 15.

“We have some lovely weanlings for sale here later in the week and they will be available for inspection from Tuesday afternoon,” Inglis Director Peter Heagney said.

“This sale really does showcase some of the best weanlings Victoria has to offer and includes the first chance buyers have to secure progeny by a number of exciting first season stallions.”

The Great Southern Sale, which also includes Broodmares and other mixed breeding stock, runs over four sessions on May 15, 16, 18 and 19.
