Quality Supplements to Great Southern Sale

Release

Next week’s William Inglis Great Southern Sale has been boosted by the addition of three very attractive supplementary broodmare entries.

The stakes placed mares LEZAYRE (by Keltrice) and FOREST NATIVE (by Forest Wildcat) are both being offered in foal to Fastnet Rock, while the regally-related DANEHILL LASS (Danehill) is in foal to More Than Ready.

They are being offered by Luskin Park and will be sold on Monday, May 19 immediately after Lot 823.

Lezayre was multiple stakes placed and won 10 races. She is already proving a success at stud, with two winners already, including the multiple Hong Kong winner Plezayre.

Forest Native, a Listed runner-up at Santa Anita, is a grand-daughter of the great Storm Cat and is from the stakes winning Water Bank mare Miss Timebank.

Danehill Lass, a Sydney winner for Gai Waterhouse, is from the stakes placed Gone West mare Western Hour.

Her third dam is the wonderful producer Fanfreluche (by Northern Dancer), whose countless black type descendants include Australia’s Champion Sires Flying Spur and Encosta De Lago.

Being by Danehill and in foal to More Than Ready, her foal will be bred on the same cross as More Than Ready’s Group One winners Perfectly Ready and Benicio and along similar lines to this season’s Champion two-year-old Sebring, who is from a grand daughter of Danehill, being out of a Flying Spur mare.
