The G.3 Frühjahrspreis is the highlight of this afternoon’s card at Frankfurt. A race for three year-olds with Classic aspirations just five have been declared for the 2000m (1¼m) contest.

Mario Hofer, whose Fair Breeze landed a superior victory in the G.3 Prix Allez France last week, runs two. Andreas Helfenbein has the ride on the relatively inexperienced Lancetto (Dubai Destination). Unplaced on his only start last year he came back to place third in a decent mile race at Düsseldorf just two weeks ago.

His second runner Something Stupid (Big Shuffle) made a big impression as a juvenile winning a Listed race first time out followed by a second to recent G.3 placegetter Schutzenjunker over 6 ½ furlongs. He subsequently disappointed on his last start of the season when solidly beaten in the G.3 Prix Maurice Lacroix at Baden-Baden. He finished eighth of nine in a Listed race at Düsseldorf on his only start this year.

Peter Schiergen saddles Kamsin (Samum), a colt that looks to have a lot of potential. A short-head runner-up in a mile maiden at Hannover on his only start as a juvenile, Kamsin ran out a nine-length winner over 8½ furlongs at Krefeld in March.

No Pardon (Dashing Blade), trained by Andreas Trybuhl, made little impact in his one race as a two year-old but won his maiden over a mile at Cologne last month and should be in with a chance.

Captain Camelot (Eden Chance) represents the Uwe Stech stable and although still a maiden has made a solid showing in both his career starts to date. He made his debut in a Magdeburg maiden in early March in which he placed third and came back last month and again finished third over 1¼m at Dresden.
