Wifi Puts Classic Credentials to the Test

Wifi (Pivotal), highly impressive winner over a mile first time out at Saint-Cloud last month, will put his credentials on the line today over the same course and distance.

His March debut was at Class F level and today’s Prix Verso II is Class B. Trainer Carlos Laffon-Parias said of his three year-old, “He won well [2½ lengths] and made a good impression on me. Despite his good win, we don’t know what he’s beaten.

“I won’t hide the fact that I expect a lot of him; he works well in the morning.”

Wifi will only meet six others. In Chambers (Oasis Dream) showed potential as a juvenile, placing twice from two starts, including a third to Hello Morning - he makes his seasonal debut this afternoon.

Another taking a step up in class is Leonaldo (Silver Deputy). Unraced at two, he has won twice from two starts this season in the provinces and represents the in-form stable of Jean-Claude Rouget.

André Fabre will saddle the Juddmonte Farms homebred Prince Apollo (Dansili) who makes his career debut. His dam Mooring is a Listed winner and, more importantly, a sister to the dam of Arc winner Rail Link.
