Arrowfield Buys Controlling Interest in All American

Arrowfield Stud announced today the purchase of a 50% interest in two year old colt All American, who is to contest the Golden Slipper on Saturday.

The current ownership group will retain a 50% interest in the colt, who will now race in Arrowfield’s colours and be managed by Arrowfield. All American will continue to be trained by David Hayes and will stand at Arrowfield Stud, Scone, at the completion of his racing career.

All American has won three of his four lifetime starts suffering his only defeat when a close second to Reaan in the G1 Arrowfield Blue Diamond Stakes. He then won the G3 Skyline Stakes in dashing style closing from last at the turn – in his first essay in the clockwise direction.

“I think All American is a very prospective colt and being by Red Ransom out of a Strawberry Road mare, he is relatively free of Northern Dancer. However, with the sire influences of Roberto and Mr Prospector close up, he is well served to make a stallion. There are outstanding performers in every generation of his pedigree and he looks like a colt for the future,” said Arrowfield Managing Director, John Messara.

“I hope he runs well in the Golden Slipper but I really think he’s more of a three year old and what he’s done to date has been achieved purely on class,” added Messara. “We at Arrowfield are keen on the prospects of our young stallion Charge Forward (by Red Ransom) and All American is the other outstanding colt by Red Ransom from that stallion’s 146 winners in Australia,” ended Messara.
